What a part load is
A part load is freight added to a van that is already running on a route with another client’s goods. The industry also calls it groupage or LTL. For your business it means a lower price than an exclusive van, with the same carrier and the same terms.
When a part load pays off
For a few pallets, bulk cartons or single items that will not fill a whole van. Also when you ship regularly but in small batches. If the deadline is very tight or the goods cannot travel with another load, dedicated transport is the better choice.
Timing and route
A part load travels with a run that is already planned in that direction. So we set collection and delivery dates according to our vans’ schedule on the route and confirm them before accepting the order. With GPS we always know where the van with your goods is.
Preparing the goods
Goods must be secured to travel alongside other loads: on a pallet, stretch-wrapped or in bulk cartons, labelled with the receiver. Give us the dimensions and weight of each piece and whether the goods can be stacked.
